Malvern

Malvern A starting point for a growing family, this worker’s cottage in inner Melbourne comprises a second story addition stitched into the existing fabric with the new parts illuminated via detailing and materiality. We have vigorously detailed the interior spaces to make the most of the large footprint available
Sandringham

Sandringham This project involved renovation, remodelling, and a second storey addition to prepare the home for a transformation into half family home and half airbnb, made easier due to the huge block size we had to work with. Ground floor works including reconfiguration of a games room to provide a living room and kitchenette, as well as dining area and a stunning open slatted staircase which leads to the new second storey. The first-floor addition accommodates 2 x bedrooms, bathroom and new robes, as well as a sitting room. We also constructed a new driveway to allow for four parking spaces in total.
Alphington

Alphington This character home needed a renovation to help it shine. It also was crying out for an addition to create the ‘heart of the home’ the kitchen/dining/laundry/butlers, and powder room. Working with our clients we have created a dream Arts & Crafts home for the family to love. Celebrating all of the charm and uniqueness the home now really shines.
Mentone

Mentone Our clients loved many character aspects of their traditional home, what they didn’t love was the lack of light, warmth, and connection to their back garden. By working as a team with local architects we’ve added a beautiful modern 2-storey extension which is now the heart of the home: Kitchen, lounge & dining are open and light-filled with an easy connection to their entertainer’s patio. Moving the laundry to the inside of the home and giving them a much-needed 2nd bathroom has been a total game-changer. The new spaces allow the family to spend time together and also to retreat and have pockets of individual spaces. Working particularly well in a time when home offices are now the new ‘norm’.
Caulfield

Caulfield This 1902 villa renovation is fully completed and she is a beauty. Over 100 years old, but practically all new. The home was untouched by the previous owners for 50+ years. Together with the new owners, we have created a stunning family home. One that celebrates the traditional features that the home offered, but it has been brought right up to date. The clients fell in love with the home despite it’s urgent need to be renovated, and we can see why. The home is now ready for another hundred years of living and loving. With crisp white as a base and all of the beautiful textures and timbers to compliment.
Hawthorn

Hawthorn hawthorn House project is a kock down re-build in the heart of one of melbournes leafiest suburbs. This double level new build opens the house to the garden and pool beautifully. The floor plan is flexible with 3 bedrooms, 2 living rooms and 2 bathrooms. The bedrooms and second living room can adapt to a variety of uses, including home office, baby room, study. The design also provides long term durability, and age with a patina, wearing in and not wearing out.
Richmond

Richmond Nestled amidst the quaint row typology of richmomnd, 19 kimber street is a humble yet spacious home retreat. In its reading corners, overgrown garden and sloping, high ceiling rooms, the house offers intimate, discrete experiences that reflect and augment the feel of the existing cottage. The backdrop of the house is the garden, where climate suitable native and exotic plants ensure some of the original untamed aesthetic is preserved — alongside, a more liveable, light-filled experience. Materiality supports the continuity of the existing weatherboard from old to new. The oak timber floors extend out from the interior to the new merbau decking in the garden, bringing warmth and richness into the palette — and a sense of borrowed space that expands the modestly sized living quarters.
