Ocon building was founded by Olly Cowan back in 2010. Olly started off life as a carpenter 20 years ago, his love and passion for the industry soon led him to becoming a builder. Ocon building is a residential building practice focussing on extensions, renovations and new build projects in Melbournes inner suburbs. As a custom home builder, there are two things that really matter to us, the quality of our work and the happiness of our clients throughout the entire process – which is demonstrated by our ongoing relationships with some of Melbourne’s best architects and designers.
OUR DIRECTOR
Olly took the trade pathway after school and achieved recognition as a DB-U Registered Builder with the VBA in 2012. Olly’s entire career has been dedicated to high-end construction, specialising in diverse areas such as period homes, custom prototyping of materials and designs, and high-end joinery finishes. Olly has managed high-end home builds and renovations ranging from simple bathroom renovations to a $3 million new build. From grandiose Brighton mansions, to technically testing renovations, he has brought his expertise to it all. His technical building acumen and expertise is enhanced by a broad range of renovation experience on older properties. A true craftsman, Olly prides himself on his meticulous attention to detail, ensuring quality control measures are at the forefront of every Ocon project.
Ocon believes that open and honest communication must be at the foundation of all builder/client relationships. Olly prioritises client questions and comprehension from start to finish. Ocon’s highly skilled in-house Carpentry Team works with a consistent crew of exceptional trades to give clients confidence in continuity and quality of finish on all builds. Sustainability is an integral part of our ethos here at Ocon Building group. We are constantly finding ways, big and small to minimise our impact on the environment. We are always working to recycle and repurpose any waste that is produced during the construction process in order to minimise our impact. But the buck doesn’t stop with us. We also empower our chippies and contractors to innovate their current waste reduction systems while encouraging creative new initiatives.
This means minimising environmental impacts is always front of mind, from sourcing materials through to the building process and delivery of the finished product. It means maintaining a core focus on environmental protection ahead of our bottom line or the potential benefits to our business. It means never neglecting our duty to the environment, the community and the world.
